Let’s Review Your Legal Situation Together
I’m Elizabeth Oropesa and I earned my law degree at the University of Miami in Florida. Today, I help individuals with immigration and family matters with transparency.
Describe Your Situation
From Foreign, Trained Attorney
to a Juris Doctor in Miami,
Florida. No Shortcuts
I was born and raised in Havana where I studied law and began to understand that the law is not only books and statutes, it’s people trying to solve real problems.
Years later, I immigrated to the United States and had to start over: a new language, a different legal system and the feeling of being a beginner again. I studied as a legal assistant at Florida International University (FIU), where I graduated with honors in 2015.
I then took the next step and completed a Master’s in International Law and earned my Juris Doctor at the University of Miami, finishing in 2020 and receiving the Dean’s Certificate at the Health Rights Clinic.
In April 2021, I passed the Florida Bar Exam and since then I have worked as an attorney focused on family, based immigration matters and family law matters in Florida.

Life Is Not Just Paperwork and Worry
Outside the office, what I value most is time with my family and friends. They have been there through every move, every stage of study and each new challenge.
I also care deeply about the community around me, collaborating, listening to people’s stories and seeing how small legal decisions can bring peace of mind to a family is why I do this work.
I know what it feels like to be on the other side of the desk, with questions, paperwork and more uncertainty than answers. That is why I approach every matter with the same seriousness I would want for someone close to me.
